The Bismarck Dress
"During the last year I have been doing a series of drawings of interiors and learning about Interior Design and its stars. It is a world full of talent and magnificent characters. This dress is inspired by two of them: the legendary socialite Mona Von Bismarck, here at her apartment at the Hotel Lambert in Paris; and American designer Ann Getty, whose grand style was so perfectly reflected in her San Francisco home." - M.S.
The Arles Dress
"This image was inspired by the famous Helmut Newton photograph of Charlotte Rampling at the Hotel Nord Pinus in Arles. I do a lot of work inspired by other artists and photographers, not trying to recreate what they have done but to give it my own twist, a new light. I love the idea of seeing an image that is familiar in a fresh, new way." - M.S.
The Amsterdam Top
"To me, books and flowers are the basic elements of any Interior. I follow many Instagram accounts that deal with flowers and flower arrangements. One of my favorites is Cake Atelier Amsterdam, where this drawing was inspired from." - M.S.
The Society Jacket
"I have always been fascinated by society women and the famous Capote swans, people like Babe Baley, Lee Radziwll or Marella Agnelli. To me, they evoke a world of glamour and beauty, but also of refinement, intelligence and excellence." - M.S.
